Burglary Arrest
On November 2, 2020 Crawford Police received two separate reports of break-ins to local businesses on each end of the Town of Crawford. The break-in at, Mobil on State Route 17k and Sunoco on State Route 52, occurred between midnight and 330 AM.
Responding officers discovered smashed doors and U.S. currency, lottery tickets and cigarette related products were taken.
Information was shared with surrounding agencies and other break-ins were reported in Ulster County.
Collaborating with the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, Town of Shawangunk and the New York State Police Ellenville information was forwarded to the Hudson Valley Crime Analyses Center.
The investigators at the HVCAC were able to develop a suspect vehicle. Crawford officers attempting to locate the vehicle observed it in the Town of Wawarsing. The vehicle was stopped by Ellenville Police and two suspects were located in the vehicle along with evidence of the break-ins. The suspects were taken back to Crawford Police department for further investigation.
Etienne D. Dodge 31 of Wawarsing and Joseph S. Zsebehazy 35 of Ellenville with Burglary in the 3rd degree, Grand Larceny 3rd degree, Criminal Mischief 2nd and Petit Larceny.
Due to the New York State Bail reform both subjects were released on an appearance ticket to appear in Town Court on return on November 10, 2020. Upon release from Crawford Police both subjects were turned over to the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office and State Police in Ellenville.
